Blum Signup Page

Theme: Blum · Section type: Template section (Customer account pages)

The Signup page is where customers create an account on your store. With an account, they can sign in to see their orders and save their addresses.

Note: This page is used only when your store uses legacy customer accounts. If your store uses new customer accounts, Shopify hosts the customer account pages and this theme template isn't used. You can check which version your store uses in your Shopify admin under Settings > Customer accounts.

  • Fix common problems

Open the Signup template

  1. In the theme editor, open the template menu at the top and select the Register customer template.
  2. In the left sidebar, click the Register section.
  3. Under General, select a Color scheme.
  4. Click Save.

The fields and buttons on this page are fixed. You can't add or remove fields in the theme editor.

What customers see

  • Create account form: First name, Last name, Email, and Password fields. Email and Password are required, and the name fields are optional.
  • Create my account: creates the account. Shopify then signs the customer in.
  • Errors: if a field is wrong, for example the email is already used, the form shows a message above the fields and marks the field.
  • Login instead: a link that opens the Login page for customers who already have an account.
  • Phones: the Create my account button uses the full width, and Login instead appears below it.

Troubleshooting

A customer can't create an account with their password.
Shopify sets the password rules, such as the minimum length. The form shows Shopify's error message so the customer can choose another password.

The email is already used.
The customer already has an account, or you created one for them. They can use Forgot your password? on the Login page to set a password.

Customers see a different signup page than the one in the theme editor.
Your store uses new customer accounts, so Shopify hosts the sign-in pages. The theme's Register template is used only with legacy customer accounts.
