Theme: Blum · Section type: All-template section
The Newsletter section shows a heading, a short text, and an email sign-up form. Use it to grow your email list and tell customers what they get when they subscribe, such as a discount or early access.
Note: You can add this section to any template, but not to the header or footer. To show a sign-up form in a popup instead, use the Newsletter popup. See Blum Popup.

Add the section and your text
- In the theme editor, open the template where you want the section.
- In the left sidebar, click Add section > Newsletter.
- Under General, enter a Section subheading, a Section heading, and a Section description. Leave a field empty to hide it.
- Under Layout, select a Content alignment: Left or Center.
- Click Save.
Tip: Say what customers get in the heading, for example "Get 10% off your first order". A clear benefit gets more sign-ups than "Subscribe to our newsletter".
Add a background image
- Click the Newsletter section.
- Under Image, select a Background image.
- Under General, set the Mask overlay opacity and the Mask overlay color to darken the image, so the text stays easy to read.
- Set the Text overlay color for the text on top of the image.
- Optional: check Enable full-width banner to stretch the image across the full screen width.
- Optional: under Image, check Enable parallax effect and select a Parallax direction: Vertical, Horizontal, or Zoom.
- Click Save.
Note: Mask overlay opacity, Mask overlay, and Text overlay apply only when the section has a background image.
Tip: Choose a calm image without busy details behind the text. Check the mobile preview, because the image is cropped to fit the screen.
Add a badge to the section
- Click the Newsletter section.
- Under Prominent badge, enter the badge Text, for example "New".
- Select an Accent scheme, a Position, and a Shape.
- Click Save.
To hide the badge, clear the Text field.
What customers see
- Sign-up form: customers enter their email address and click Subscribe. The form checks that the email address is valid.
- After subscribing: a success message appears below the form. The email address is added to your customer list in the Shopify admin with the tag "newsletter".
- Background image: the image fills the section, with the mask overlay and text colors you set. With Enable parallax effect, the image moves as customers scroll.
- Mobile: the email field and the Subscribe button stack on top of each other.

Prominent badge

Troubleshooting
The mask overlay and text colors don't change anything.
These settings apply only when the section has a Background image. Add an image under Image.
I can't find the parallax setting.
Enable parallax effect appears only after you select a Background image.
Where do I find the people who subscribed?
In your Shopify admin, go to Customers. Subscribers from this form have the tag "newsletter" and are subscribed to email marketing.
The text is hard to read on my image.
Increase Mask overlay opacity, or change the Text overlay color.
