Blum Blog Post List

Theme: Blum · Section type: All-template section

The Blog post list section shows the latest posts from one of your blogs as cards. Use it on your homepage or any page to share stories, guides, and news with customers.

Note: You can add this section to any template, but not to the header or footer. The section has no blocks: the posts come from the blog you select.

What you can do

  • Add the section and choose a blog
  • Choose how many posts to show and how they are laid out
  • Add a "View all" button
  • See what customers see
  • Look up every setting
  • Fix common problems

Add the section and choose a blog

  1. In the theme editor, open the template where you want the section.
  2. In the left sidebar, click Add section > Blog post list.
  3. Under General, click Blog and select the blog whose posts you want to show.
  4. Optional: enter a Section subheading, a Section heading, and a Section description.
  5. Click Save.

Tip: Until you select a blog, the section shows placeholder posts. Select a blog before you publish the page.

Choose how many posts to show and how they are laid out

  1. Click the Blog post list section.
  2. Under Layout, select the Items per row on desktop: 3, 4, 5, or 6.
  3. Drag Items to show to set how many posts appear, from 2 to 12.
  4. Select a Content alignment: Left or Center.
  5. Optional: turn on Enable carousel on mobile and Show navigation on mobile.
  6. Click Save.

The section shows the latest posts of the blog, newest first.

Add a "View all" button

  1. Click the Blog post list section.
  2. Under Button, select Show 'View all' button if collection has more products than being shown.
  3. Optional: change the 'View all' button label.
  4. Click Save.

The button links to the blog page. It appears only when the blog has more posts than the number set in Items to show.

Change what each post card shows

The post cards use the theme's article card settings, so all blog post lists and the blog page look the same.

  1. In the theme editor, click Theme settings > Article card.
  2. Turn on or off Show featured image, Show excerpt, Show published date, Show author, and Show "Read more", and select a Featured image ratio.
  3. Click Save.

Note: Show blog's tags applies to the blog page only. The Blog post list section never shows tags on its cards.

What customers see

  • Desktop: the posts appear in a grid with the number of posts per row you selected. Each card shows the details you turned on in Theme settings > Article card.
  • Tablets: the posts appear 2 per row.
  • Phones: with Enable carousel on mobile on, the posts appear in one row that customers swipe through. With Show navigation on mobile on, arrow buttons also appear. With the carousel off, the posts stack one per row.
  • Clicking a post: customers go to the full blog post.
  • "View all" button: opens the blog page with all posts.

Troubleshooting

The section shows placeholder posts.
No blog is selected, or the selected blog has no published posts. Under General, select a Blog that has published posts.

The "View all" button doesn't appear.
The button appears only when the blog has more posts than Items to show. Lower Items to show, or check that the button checkbox under Button is on.

I can't hide the "View all" button by deleting its label.
An empty label shows the default text "View all". To hide the button, turn off the button checkbox under Button.

The arrows don't show on mobile.
Turn on both Enable carousel on mobile and Show navigation on mobile. The arrows never show on desktop.
