Getting Started

Getting started

This guide takes you from installation to your first useful AgentWatch
baseline.

1. Install and open AgentWatch

Install AgentWatch for the Shopify store you want to monitor, then open it from
Shopify Admin. AgentWatch authenticates through Shopify and runs as an embedded
app.

The app is read-only. It requests report access for aggregate analytics and
product access for minimal product title and status snapshots.

2. Choose a plan

On the Welcome page, select Choose a plan. Shopify opens its hosted
plan-selection page, where you can pick:

  • Free: the last 7 days, your top 5 products, and in-app incidents.
  • Monitor: longer history, hourly checks, and incident emails.
  • Optimize: everything in Monitor, plus product opportunities and the

product data readiness audit.

Monitor and Optimize include a 14-day free trial that starts when you approve
the plan. Shopify manages the charge, trial, billing interval, and
cancellation. See Pricing and billing for a full
comparison.

Development stores can display an effective price of $0 with labels such
as Free to test or Test with this plan. This is expected and does not
change the price for production stores.

3. Add an alert email

After returning to AgentWatch:

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Enter the email address that should receive incident notifications.
  3. Leave Enable email alerts selected.
  4. Select the alert categories you want.
  5. Select Save settings.

AgentWatch sends alerts only for incident openings, critical escalations, and
automatic recoveries. It does not email on every monitoring run.

Incident emails are included on Monitor and Optimize. On Free, incidents still
appear in the app, and the same email address receives the weekly digest.

4. Create the first analytics baseline

In Settings, select Sync 30 completed days. The sync reads the latest 30
completed reporting days and safely stores aggregate metrics.

Do not close the app while a manual operation is running. When it finishes, the
Dashboard shows the latest successful sync time. If one upstream source is
temporarily unavailable, AgentWatch retains previously good data and can record
the run as Partial.

5. Run the first health check

Select Run health checks in Settings or on the Health page. Review the
latest run and expand View technical details only when you need more context
or are preparing a support request.

Manual operations have a one-minute cooldown. If you run the same operation
again too quickly, wait for the number of seconds shown in the message.

6. Review the Dashboard

Return to Dashboard and confirm:

  • The latest analytics sync and health-check times are present.
  • The overall status is shown.
  • Available AI-referred KPIs and channel rows are populated.
  • Any unavailable metric says No data rather than being presented as zero.

Stores without AI-referred or Global Catalog activity can legitimately have
empty analytics. Empty data by itself is not an outage.

7. On Optimize: run the first readiness audit

Open Opportunities and select Run first audit. This scores your
active products and records how they look today, so AgentWatch can measure
your future product edits. See Product opportunities.
