Blum 3.9.0 is a feature-rich update built for fashion and lifestyle brands that want more control over how they sell and how they tell their story. This release brings native pre-order support so you can start generating revenue before a product ships, a brand-new Images with Text Scroll section that turns your editorial imagery into an immersive browsing experience, and a dedicated Product Disclosures block to keep your store compliant without cluttering your product pages. Alongside these highlights, you will find a revamped Before/After section, improved parallax effects across more of your storefront, and a wave of accessibility and performance refinements that make the entire theme feel smoother and more polished.
Highlight Features
Tell Your Brand Story with Images with Text Scroll
Your lookbook imagery deserves more than a static grid. The new Images with Text Scroll section creates a cinematic storytelling experience where images swap in sync with paired text blocks as visitors scroll down the page. On mobile, it transforms into a swipeable carousel, keeping the experience just as fluid on smaller screens.
You have full creative control over the image ratio, position, and content alignment, plus settings for scroll speed and a background image to set the mood. Whether you are walking shoppers through a new collection's inspiration, highlighting material details, or building an editorial-style landing page, this section lets your visuals do the talking in a way that feels premium and intentional.
Start Selling Before You Ship with Pre-order Support
Launching a new collection or restocking a bestseller? Now your customers do not have to wait. Blum 3.9.0 introduces full pre-order support, letting shoppers commit to a purchase the moment they fall in love with a product, even if it is not available yet. The pre-order state flows seamlessly through your entire storefront: the add-to-cart button updates to reflect pre-order status, a subtle product badge signals availability at a glance, and your cart and cart drawer display clear pre-order messaging so there are no surprises at checkout.
Everything is driven by per-product eligibility, which means you stay in full control of which items are available for pre-order and which follow your standard purchase flow. For fashion brands running seasonal drops or limited releases, this turns anticipation into actual orders.
How to enable Pre-order button in Blum:
From the theme editor, go to Settings > Product information > Pre-order to enable the function
Go to Shopify Admin > Products > enable Continue selling when out of stock
Notable Additions and Improvements
Revamped Before/After Section
The Before/After section has been rebuilt with blocks, giving you more flexibility in how you present transformations, comparisons, or product demonstrations. You can now configure the slide direction, choose from multiple handle styles, and add a reveal-on-scroll animation that draws attention as visitors move down the page.

Expanded Parallax Effects with Direction Control
The parallax effect now goes beyond just vertical scrolling. You can set the direction to vertical, horizontal, or zoom, and the improved effect works beautifully on banner sections.
Even better, parallax is now available on Image Banner, Newsletter, Countdown Banner, Custom Section, and Collection Header, so you can bring depth and motion to more of your storefront than ever before.
Product Disclosures for Safety and Compliance
Selling products that require regulatory warnings, such as California Proposition 65 notices or choking-hazard labels? Blum now includes a dedicated Product Disclosures block for Product and Featured Product sections, with support in the cart and cart drawer as well. This block surfaces Shopify's structured Disclosure metafields as a clean, collapsible group on the page, respecting each disclosure's display surface preferences. Your compliance content stays organized and clearly presented without interrupting the shopping experience.
Slideshow Image Swiper Upgrades
The Slideshow Image Swiper now supports a full-width layout option and introduces a pill morph pagination style that adds a polished, modern feel to your slideshow navigation. Several smaller bug fixes round out the improvements.
Tabbed Content Animation
Tabbed Content sections now feature an animation on section reveal, adding a subtle visual cue that draws the eye as visitors scroll to your tabbed layouts.
Accessibility Improvements
All new sections ship with proper ARIA semantics, and reduced-motion support has been added so visitors who prefer less animation get an equally comfortable browsing experience.
Bug Fixes & Under the Hood
Fixed the Country/Language Switcher hover popup not behaving correctly
Fixed dropdown menu not closing on click in hover mode
Fixed awkward line breaks in Revealing Text for Chinese, Japanese, and Korean text
