# Template-based section

**Theme:** Blum · **Section type:** Overview

Template-based sections are the main sections of a page type, such as Product details on product pages or Collection products on collection pages. They show the content of that page from your Shopify admin, and they work only on their own template.

> **Note:** You can't add template-based sections from **Add section** on other templates. You can add all-template sections above and below them. See the article [Blum All-Template Sections](https://doc.ecomx.co/en/article/blum-all-template-sections-jwz099/).

## Edit a template-based section
1. In the theme editor, open the page selector at the top and select the template, for example **Products** > **Default product**.
2. In the left sidebar, click the main section, for example **Product details**.
3. Change its settings and blocks.
4. Click **Save**.

> **Caution:** Template-based sections aren't in the **Add section** list. If you remove one, you may not be able to add it back. Hide it with the eye icon instead.

## What customers see
- **Page content:** the template-based section shows the item's own content, for example the product's title, media, price, and variants, or the products of a collection.
- **Same layout:** every item that uses the same template has the same layout, with its own content.
- **Extra sections:** all-template sections you add above or below show on every page that uses the template.

## Troubleshooting
**I can't find Product details in the Add section list.**
Product details is a template-based section. It's already in every product template. Open a product template to edit it.

**I deleted the main section of a template.**
Template-based sections aren't in the **Add section** list. Create a new template based on the default one, which still has the section, and assign it to your items.

**My product description doesn't show.**
The content of template-based sections comes from your Shopify admin. Check the product in **Products**, and check that the **Basic description** block is in **Product details**.
