Shine Page/Policies Page

Theme: Shine · Section type: Page section

The Page section shows the title and content of a page you create in the Shopify admin, such as an About us, FAQ, or Terms page. Your store's policy pages (privacy, refund, shipping, and terms of service) use the same look, but you edit them in a different place.

Note: The Page section is part of the page templates. You can't remove it, but you can hide it and add other sections around it. Policy pages have no template in the theme editor.

What you can do

  • Create a page and choose its template
  • Show or hide the page title and content
  • Edit your policy pages
  • See what customers see
  • Look up every setting in "Settings reference"
  • Fix common problems

Create a page and choose its template

  1. In the Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Pages and click Add page.
  2. Enter a Title and the page Content.
  3. Under Theme template, choose Default page or another page template.
  4. Click Save.
  5. To show the page in your store's menu, add it in Content > Menus.

Show or hide the page title and content

  1. In the theme editor, open the template selector at the top of the page.
  2. Click Pages > Default page, or the page template you use.
  3. In the left sidebar, click Page.
  4. Under General, choose a Color schemes option.
  5. Under Content, check or clear Show page title and Show page content.
  6. Click Save.

Tip: If you build a page with sections, for example an Image banner with its own heading, clear Show page title so the title doesn't appear twice.

Edit your policy pages

Policy pages, such as /policies/privacy-policy, are created by Shopify. The theme styles them like your other pages, with the header and footer around them.

  1. In the Shopify admin, go to Settings > Policies.
  2. Click a policy, edit the text, and click Save.
  3. To link a policy in your footer, add it to a menu in Content > Menus.

What customers see

  • Page title: a centered heading with the page title, when Show page title is on.
  • Page content: the text, images, and other content from the page editor, in an easy-to-read width below the title.
  • Policy pages: the policy title and text in the same style, with your header and footer.

Troubleshooting

I can't find my policy page in the theme editor.
Policy pages have no template. Edit the text in Settings > Policies in the Shopify admin.

The page is empty.
Check that Show page title and Show page content are on, and that the page has content in the Shopify admin. If the page uses another template, open that template in the theme editor.

My changes don't show on one page.
Each page uses one template. Check the Theme template of the page in the Shopify admin, and edit that template in the theme editor.
