# Shine Blog Post Details

**Theme:** Shine · **Section type:** Blog post page section

The Blog post details section shows a single blog post: its featured image, title, author and date, content, and tags. It also adds share buttons, links to the previous and next posts, and the comments area when your blog allows comments.

> **Note:** This section is part of the blog post template. You can't remove it, but you can hide it and add other sections around it. Each block can be added once: Featured image, Blog title, Share, and Content. You can also add app blocks.

---

## Open a blog post in the theme editor
1. In the theme editor, open the template selector at the top of the page.
2. Click **Blog posts** > **Default blog post**.
3. In the left sidebar, click **Blog post details**.

The template comes with the **Featured image**, **Blog title**, and **Content** blocks.

## Arrange the parts of the post
1. Under **Blog post details**, drag the blocks to change their order.
2. To hide a block, click the eye icon next to it.
3. Click **Blog title** and choose a **Heading size**: Headline, H1, H2, H3, H4, H5, or H6.
4. Check **Show published date** and **Show author** to show them below the title.
5. Click **Save**.

> **Tip:** The featured image is also the preview image when customers share the post link on social media. Use an image that looks good when it's cropped.

## Add share buttons
1. Under **Blog post details**, click **Add block** > **Share**.
2. Choose a **Social media icons style**: Filled button or Ghost button.
3. Drag the block to where you want the buttons, for example below the title.
4. Click **Save**.

## Show tags and change the text size
1. Click the **Content** block.
2. Check **Show tag** to show the post's tags below the content.
3. Drag **Body base size** to set the text size of the post, from 18 px to 22 px.
4. Click **Save**.

You write the post itself in the Shopify admin. The **Content** block shows that text.

## Let customers comment on posts
Comments are turned on per blog in the Shopify admin. The theme shows them automatically.

1. In the Shopify admin, go to **Content** > **Blog posts** > **Manage blogs**, and click the blog.
2. Under **Comments**, choose to allow comments, with or without approval (moderation).
3. Click **Save**.

> **Note:** When comments need approval, customers see a message that their comment will appear after it's approved. You approve comments in the blog post in the Shopify admin.

## What customers see
- **Post:** the featured image, the title with the date and author, and the post content in an easy-to-read width.
- **Tags:** below the content when **Show tag** is on. Customers click a tag to see other posts with that tag.
- **Previous and Next:** below the content, buttons open the previous and next posts in the same blog. The first and last posts show only one button.
- **Share:** a **Share** label with icons. On devices and browsers that have a built-in share menu, such as most phones, customers see one share icon that opens that menu. On other browsers, they see Facebook, X, and Pinterest icons that open a sharing window.
- **Comments:** when the blog allows comments, customers see the number of comments, the comments (3 per page, with **Read more** for long ones), and a **Leave a comment** form with **Name**, **Email**, and **Comment**.

## Troubleshooting
**The share buttons don't show.**
The default template doesn't include them. Click **Add block** > **Share** in the **Blog post details** section.

**Customers can't comment on my posts.**
Comments are off for the blog. In the Shopify admin, open **Content** > **Blog posts** > **Manage blogs**, click the blog, and allow comments.

**The featured image doesn't show.**
The block shows an image only when the post has a featured image. Add one to the post in the Shopify admin.

**I can't add a second Share or Content block.**
Each block can be added once to the section.
