# Shine Blog Page

**Theme:** Shine · **Section type:** Blog page section

The Blog page section lists all the posts of a blog on its own page, with the blog title, an optional RSS link, and a card for each post. Use it to let customers browse your stories, guides, and news.

> **Note:** This section is part of the blog template. You can't remove it or add a second one, but you can hide it and add other sections around it. The blog template also includes a **Breadcrumb** section.

1. In the theme editor, open the template selector at the top of the page.
2. Click **Blogs** > **Default blog**.
3. In the left sidebar, click **Blog page**.

> **Tip:** The page heading is the blog's title. To change it, edit the blog in the Shopify admin under **Content** > **Blog posts** > **Manage blogs**.

## Set how many posts load and how
1. Click **Blog page**.
2. Under **General**, choose **Items per load**: 20, 30, 40, or 50 posts.
3. Choose a **Load blog posts method**:
   - **Pagination** shows page numbers below the posts.
   - **Button** shows a load more button that adds the next posts.
   - **Infinity scroll** loads the next posts when customers scroll to the end.
4. Click **Save**.

## Choose what each post card shows
1. Click **Blog page**.
2. Under **Blog post card**, check what each card shows: **Show featured image**, **Show blog's tags**, **Show published date**, **Show author**, and **Show excerpt**.
3. Click **Save**.

To change them, click **Theme settings** > **Blog post card** and choose a **Style** (Standard or Card), a **Color schemes** option, and an **Image ratio** (Square or Landscape).

## Change the columns and heading alignment
1. Click **Blog page**.

## What customers see
- **Heading:** the blog title. If **Show RSS** is on, an RSS icon appears next to it. Customers click it to open the blog's feed and follow new posts in a feed reader.
- **Post cards:** each card shows the parts you turned on: the featured image, the tags, the title, the author and date, and the excerpt. Customers click the image or the title to open the post.
- **Tags:** customers click a tag to see the posts that have that tag.
- **More posts:** when the blog has more posts than **Items per load**, customers see page numbers, a load more button, or more posts as they scroll, based on **Load blog posts method**.
- **Phones and tablets:** phones show 1 post per row, and tablets show 2. Large screens use **Default columns per row**.

## Troubleshooting
**I can't set the number of columns on phones.**
The number of columns on small screens is fixed: 1 post per row on phones and 2 on tablets. **Default columns per row** applies to large screens only.

**The load more button or page numbers don't show.**
They appear only when the blog has more posts than **Items per load**.

**The excerpt doesn't show.**
The card shows the excerpt only when the post has one. In the Shopify admin, open the blog post and add text in the **Excerpt** box. Also check that **Show excerpt** is on.

**I can't find the image ratio setting.**
The image ratio is now a theme setting. Click **Theme settings** > **Blog post card** > **Image ratio**.
