# Blum Sections

**Theme:** Blum · **Section type:** Overview

Sections are the building blocks of every page in Blum, such as a slideshow, a product grid, or a newsletter form. You add, arrange, hide, and remove sections in the theme editor to build each page without code.

> **Note:** Sections you add to a template show on every page that uses that template. To give one page its own sections, create a new template for it. See the article [Blum Templates](https://doc.ecomx.co/en/article/blum-templates-57b2vt/).

**What you can do**
- Add a section
- Change a section's settings and blocks
- Reorder sections
- Hide or remove a section
- See what customers see
- Fix common problems

---

## Add a section
1. In the theme editor, open the page you want to edit, for example **Home page**.
2. In the left sidebar, under **Template**, click **Add section**.
3. Select a section from the list. You can search the list by name.
4. Click **Save**.

> **Tip:** Hover over **Add section** between two sections to add a new section at that exact spot.

## Change a section's settings and blocks
1. In the left sidebar, click the section name. Its settings open.
2. Change the settings. The preview updates as you go.
3. To add content inside the section, click **Add block** under the section name and select a block.
4. Click **Save**.

> **Tip:** Many Blum sections have a **Color scheme** setting. Use it to give a section its own background and text colors from **Theme settings** > **Colors**.

## Reorder sections
1. In the left sidebar, point to the section you want to move.
2. Drag the handle icon next to the section name up or down.
3. Click **Save**.

## Hide or remove a section
1. In the left sidebar, point to the section.
2. To hide it, click the eye icon. The section stays in the template, but customers don't see it.
3. To remove it, click the section, then click **Remove section** at the bottom of its settings.
4. Click **Save**.

> **Caution:** Removing a section deletes its settings and content. Hide it instead if you might use it again.

## What customers see
- **Order:** sections show from top to bottom in the order of the left sidebar.
- **Hidden sections:** don't appear on the store, but stay in the theme editor.
- **Mobile:** most sections stack their content in one column on phones. Some sections have separate mobile settings, such as a mobile image or the number of items per row.

## Troubleshooting
**A section I added shows on all my products.**
All products that use the same template share its sections. Create a new product template, add the section there, and assign the template to the product.

**I can't find a section in the Add section list.**
Some sections only work on one template, such as Product details on the product template. Others, like the header and footer, are in the **Header** and **Footer** groups. See the article [Blum All-Template Sections](https://doc.ecomx.co/en/article/blum-all-template-sections-jwz099/).

**My changes don't show on the store.**
Click **Save** in the theme editor. Changes show on the store only when the theme is published.
