# Blum Reset Password Page

**Theme:** Blum · **Section type:** Template section (Customer account pages)

The Reset password page is where customers choose a new password after they forget the old one. They reach it from the password reset email that Shopify sends.

> **Note:** This page is used only when your store uses legacy customer accounts. If your store uses new customer accounts, Shopify hosts the customer account pages and this theme template isn't used. You can check which version your store uses in your Shopify admin under **Settings** > **Customer accounts**.

---

## See how customers reset their password

1. On the Login page, the customer clicks **Forgot your password?**.
2. In the **Reset password** form, they enter their **Email** and click **Send**.
3. Shopify emails them a link to the Reset password page.
4. On that page, they enter a new password twice and click **Reset password**.

## Open the Reset password template

1. In the theme editor, open the template menu at the top and select the **Reset password** customer template.
2. In the left sidebar, click the **Reset password** section.
3. Under **General**, select a **Color scheme**.
4. Click **Save**.

## What customers see

- **Heading:** "Reset password" and the text "Enter a new password for" followed by the customer's email address.
- **Form:** a **Password** field and a **Confirm password** field.
- **Reset password:** saves the new password and signs the customer in.
- **Errors:** if the passwords don't match or don't meet Shopify's rules, the form shows a message and marks the field.

## Settings reference

### General

| Setting | What it does |
| ---- | ---- |
| Color scheme | Sets the colors of the page. You can edit color schemes in Theme settings > Colors. |

## Troubleshooting

**The reset link doesn't work anymore.**
Reset links expire. The customer can request a new link with **Forgot your password?** on the Login page.

**The customer didn't get the reset email.**
Ask them to check their spam folder and to use the same email address as their account.

**The button on the Login page says Send, not Reset password.**
**Send** is the button in the **Forgot your password?** form on the Login page, which sends the email. **Reset password** is the button on the page that opens from the email.
