# Blum Password template

**Theme:** Blum · **Section type:** Template section (Password template)

The Password template is the page visitors see while your store is password protected. Use it as a "coming soon" page: show your logo, a message, a newsletter sign-up form, and your contact details.

> **Note:** The page appears only when password protection is turned on for your online store in your Shopify admin. The template comes with the Password page section, which holds 1 Content block. The announcement bar, header, and footer don't appear on this page.

**What you can do**
- Open the Password template
- Add your logo and a background image
- Write your message and collect email sign-ups
- Show your contact details and social media
- See what customers see
- Look up every setting
- Fix common problems

---

## Open the Password template

1. In the theme editor, open the template menu at the top and select **Password**.
2. In the left sidebar, click the **Password page** section.

## Add your logo and a background image

1. Under **Logo**, select an **Image**.
2. Drag **Max width on large screen** (50 px to 250 px) and **Max width on mobile** (50 px to 200 px) to size the logo.
3. Under **Image**, select a **Background image**.
4. Optional: select a **Mobile background image (optional)**.
5. Under **General**, drag **Mask overlay opacity** to darken the image so the text stays readable.
6. Click **Save**.

> **Tip:** Use a 2880 x 1200 px .jpg for the background image and a 750 x 1400 px .jpg for the mobile background image.

## Write your message and collect email sign-ups

1. Click the **Content** block.
2. Under **Text**, enter a **Subheading**, a **Heading**, and a **Description**.
3. Optional: under **Prominent badge**, enter a badge **Text**.
4. Under **Newsletter**, turn on **Enable newsletter** and enter the **Submit button text**.
5. Click **Save**.

Customers who sign up are added to your customer list in your Shopify admin as subscribers who accept marketing.

## Show your contact details and social media

1. Add your email address and phone number in **Theme settings** > **Email address and phone number**.
2. Add your social media links in **Theme settings** > **Social media**.
3. Click the **Content** block.
4. Under **Contact information**, turn on **Show email address and phone number** and **Show social media icons**.
5. Click **Save**.

## What customers see

- **Logo:** your logo at the top. Without a logo image, the store name shows as text.
- **Password message:** the message you entered for password protection in your Shopify admin appears below the logo.
- **Content:** the subheading, heading, description, and badge, followed by the email sign-up form, your email address and phone number, and social media icons.
- **Background:** the background image with the mask overlay. On phones, the mobile background image shows if you added one.
- **Footer:** "This shop will be powered by Shopify" and an **Enter using password** button. The button opens a popup where visitors type the store password and click **Enter**. Store owners can also click **Log in here** to open the Shopify admin.

## Troubleshooting

**Customers don't see the password page.**
Password protection is turned off. Turn it on in your Shopify admin under **Online Store** > **Preferences**.

**My email address, phone number, or social icons don't show.**
They come from your theme settings. Add them in **Theme settings** > **Email address and phone number** and **Theme settings** > **Social media**.

**The text is hard to read on the background image.**
Raise **Mask overlay opacity**, or change the **Mask overlay** and **Text overlay** colors under **General**.

**The badge Accent scheme, Position, and Shape settings don't appear.**
In Blum 3.9.0 these badge options can stay hidden in the Content block, even after you enter a badge **Text**. Contact eComX support if you need to change them.

**I can't add a second Content block.**
The Password page section holds 1 Content block.
