# Blum Breadcrumb

**Theme:** Blum · **Section type:** Template-based section

The Breadcrumb section shows customers where they are in your store, for example Home > Tops > Charles Waistcoat Top. Customers can click a level to go back, and search engines use it to understand your site structure.

> **Note:** You can add the Breadcrumb section to these templates only: Product, Collection, Collections list, Blog, Blog post, Page, and Search. Blum adds it to the top of these templates by default.

**What you can do**
- Add, move, or remove the breadcrumb
- See what customers see
- Look up every setting in "Settings reference"
- Fix common problems

---

## Add, move, or remove the breadcrumb
1. In the theme editor, open a template that supports the breadcrumb, for example **Products** > **Default product**.
2. To add it, click **Add section** > **Breadcrumb**.
3. To move it, drag the **Breadcrumb** section up or down in the left sidebar. The usual place is at the top, right below the header.
4. To remove it, click the **Breadcrumb** section, then click **Remove section**. To hide it for now, click the eye icon instead.
5. Optional: select a **Color scheme**.
6. Click **Save**.

> **Tip:** Each template has its own breadcrumb. If you remove it from the product template, it still shows on collection and blog pages.

## What customers see
The breadcrumb is a row of small links. Every level except the current page is underlined and clickable.
- **Product page:** Home > Collection > Product. The collection level appears only when customers open the product from a collection page.
- **Collection page:** Home > Collections > Collection. When customers filter by a tag, the tag appears as the last level.
- **Blog and blog post:** Home > Blog, or Home > Blog > Post. When customers filter a blog by a tag, the tag appears as the last level.
- **Page and search:** Home > Page title, or Home > Search.
- **Mobile:** the links wrap onto a second line when they don't fit.

## Settings reference
### General
| Setting | What it does |
| ---- | ---- |
| Color scheme | Sets the background and text colors of the breadcrumb. You edit color schemes in Theme settings > Colors. |

## Troubleshooting
**I can't find the Breadcrumb section in the list.**
The section is available only on the Product, Collection, Collections list, Blog, Blog post, Page, and Search templates. It isn't available on the homepage, cart, or customer account pages.

**The collection doesn't show in the product breadcrumb.**
The collection level appears only when customers open the product from a collection page. When customers open the product from the homepage or search, the breadcrumb shows Home > Product.

**I removed the breadcrumb, but it still shows on some pages.**
Each template, and each alternate template, has its own breadcrumb. Remove it from every template where you don't want it.
