# Blum Blog template

**Theme:** Blum · **Section type:** Template section (Blog template)

The Blog template controls the page that lists all posts of a blog. You choose how many posts appear per page, how more posts load, and whether customers can filter posts by tag.

> **Note:** The template comes with a Breadcrumb section and the Blog page section. You can hide the Blog page section, but you can't remove it. You can add other sections above or below it.

---

## Open the Blog template

1. In the theme editor, open the template menu at the top and select **Blogs**.
2. In the left sidebar, click the **Blog page** section.

All blogs that use this template share these settings.

## Choose how many posts show and how more posts load

1. Click the **Blog page** section.
2. Under **General**, select the **Items per page**: 12, 24, or 36.
3. Select a **Load product methods** option: **Pagination** or **Infinite scrolling**.
4. Under **Layout**, select the **Items per row on desktop**: 3, 4, 5, or 6.
5. Select a **Content alignment**: Left or Center.
6. Click **Save**.

> **Note:** **Load product methods** sets how blog posts load on this page, even though its label mentions products.

## Let customers filter posts by tag

1. In your Shopify admin, add tags to your blog posts.
2. In the theme editor, click the **Blog page** section.
3. Under **Blog post header**, select **Show tags filter**.
4. Optional: select **Show RSS** to show an RSS icon next to the blog title.
5. Click **Save**.

The tag filter lists **All** plus every tag used in the blog.

## Change what each post card shows

1. In the theme editor, click **Theme settings** > **Article card**.
2. Turn on or off **Show featured image**, **Show blog's tags**, **Show excerpt**, **Show published date**, **Show author**, and **Show "Read more"**, and select a **Featured image ratio**.
3. Click **Save**.

These settings also apply to the Blog post list section.

## What customers see

- **Blog title:** the blog name appears at the top. With **Show RSS** on, an RSS icon next to the title opens the blog's feed.
- **Tag filter:** a row of tags under the title. Customers click a tag to see only the posts with that tag, or **All** to see every post. On small screens, customers scroll the tags sideways.
- **Posts:** a grid of post cards, newest first. Desktop shows the number of posts per row you selected, tablets show 2 per row, and phones show 1 per row.
- **More posts:** with **Pagination**, page numbers appear below the posts. With **Infinite scrolling**, the next posts load automatically when customers reach the end of the list.

## Troubleshooting

**The tag filter only shows "All".**
None of the blog's posts have tags. Add tags to your blog posts in your Shopify admin.

**I can't set the number of posts per row on tablets.**
The Blog template has no tablet setting. Tablets always show 2 posts per row and phones show 1.

**Tags don't appear on the post cards.**
Turn on **Show blog's tags** in **Theme settings** > **Article card**.

**Customers can't find older posts.**
With **Pagination**, older posts are on the next pages. With **Infinite scrolling**, customers need to scroll to the end of the list to load more. Pick the method that suits your blog in **Load product methods**.
