# Blum Announcement Bar

**Theme:** Blum · **Section type:** Header group section

The Announcement bar shows short messages above the header on every page, such as a sale, free shipping, or a new collection. Customers see your most important news as soon as they land on your store.

> **Note:** The Announcement bar is part of the **Header** group, above the Header section. It holds up to 6 messages. The bar is hidden when it has no messages.

## Add your messages
1. In the theme editor, under **Header**, click the **Announcement bar** section.
2. Click **Add block** > **Message**.
3. Enter the **Text** of your message.
4. Optional: add a **Link**, for example to your sale collection.
5. Repeat for each message, up to 6.
6. Click **Save**.

> **Tip:** Keep each message short, so it fits on one line on mobile.

## Rotate messages automatically
1. In the **Announcement bar** section, under **Messages**, check **Enable messages autoplay**.
2. Drag **Change message every** to set how long each message shows, from 3 to 10 seconds.
3. Optional: check **Open external link in a new tab**.
4. Click **Save**.

## What customers see
- **One message:** the message shows in the center of the bar, without arrows.
- **Several messages:** customers see one message at a time. They click the arrows on each side to move between messages. With autoplay on, the messages change on their own.
- **Linked messages:** a message with a link is underlined. Customers click it to open the link.
- **Mobile:** the bar works the same way and stays above the header.

## Settings reference
### General
| Setting | What it does |
| ---- | ---- |
| Color scheme | Sets the background and text colors of the bar. You edit color schemes in Theme settings > Colors. |

### Messages
| Setting | What it does |
| ---- | ---- |
| Enable messages autoplay | Changes the message automatically. |
| Change message every | Sets how long each message shows, from 3 to 10 seconds. |
| Open external link in a new tab | Opens message links that go to other websites in a new browser tab. |

### Message block settings
| Setting | What it does |
| ---- | ---- |
| Text | The message text. |
| Link | The page customers open when they click the message. Appears after you enter text. |

## Troubleshooting
**The announcement bar doesn't show.**
The bar shows only when it has at least one Message block with text. Add a message, or check that the section isn't hidden in the **Header** group.

**My messages don't change on their own.**
Check **Enable messages autoplay** under **Messages**.

**I can't add another message.**
The bar holds up to 6 messages. Remove a message before you add a new one.
